Become A Junior Ranger!

Park visitors of all ages can explore Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park and learn about the Gold Rush that changed California, the nation, and the world—while becoming a Junior Ranger!

Getting started is easy:

• Stop by the Visitor Center to pick up a free Junior Ranger Activity Book

• Complete the age-appropriate activities outlined on the first page

• Review your completed booklet with a park official at the Visitor Center

Once finished, you’ll officially be sworn in as a Junior Ranger!

Junior Ranger Patch

Participants who complete the program are eligible to purchase a Junior Ranger Patch for $2 at the Marshall Gold Mercantile.
(Activity booklet is free; patch sold separately.)

The Junior Ranger Activity Book is available for download below. Please note that only children who visit the park in person and complete the activities with a park official may earn the Junior Ranger designation and purchase a patch.
