Step back in time and experience local history like never before at Voices of the Pioneer Cemetery, a unique living-history event at Marshall Gold on June 28th.

Guests will meet at the Emmanuel Church to enjoy engaging actor portrayals of real people buried in the Pioneer Cemetery, bringing their stories to life through first-person storytelling. These powerful performances highlight the lives, struggles, and legacies of early community members whose stories helped shape the region.

You’ll hear tales from notable figures such as Texas Ellen, Nancy Gooch, Stephen Crane, Emma Hooper, and many more—each story offering a fascinating glimpse into the past.

Following the performances, guests will enjoy light snacks, then be shuttled to the Pioneer Cemetery, where guides will lead you through the grounds and show you the final resting places of the individuals whose stories you’ve just heard.
