Planning Your Experience

Follow these steps to plan your visit and reserve programs at Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park:

1. Reserve Your Visit

All school groups must first make a reservation through Reserve California by calling this number: (866) 240-4655.

2. Reserve Your Programs

Once you have your Reserve California reservation, please contact us to book your interpretive programs:

When you call or email, please have the following information ready:

• Reserve California reservation number

• Date of your visit

• Programs you would like to participate in

• Approximate number of children and adults attending

• School name

• Teacher’s name

• Best phone number

• Email address

3. Cancellations or Changes

• Please notify us of any changes as soon as possible.

• If you must cancel, you are required to call both:

  • Marshall Gold Discovery SHP at (530) 622-3069 to cancel your programs.

  • Reserve California at (866) 240-4655 to cancel your park reservation.

4. Payment & Refund Policy

• No Refunds: No refunds are available if children do not attend the program.

• Adult Substitutions: An adult may take a child’s place, but we cannot issue refunds on a per-child basis.

• Mail-In Payments: You may mail a check in advance to:

  Your mailed check must include:

  • Your group or school name

  • The date of your field trip

  • The specific programs you are paying for

  ⚠️ If these instructions are not followed, we may not be able to match your payment to your tour, as we host thousands of students each month.

• Day-Of Payments: If you prefer to wait until the day of your program to pay, please bring check, cash, or card to the Mercantile to complete payment.
